Mozart: String Quartet No. 10

Just a year after the Milan Quartets were completed, Mozart complete a new set of quartets in Vienna after hearing some of the quartets of Haydn. The String Quartet No. 10 in C Major (K. 170) follows the familiar four movement pattern of the string quartet that Mozart was now working with. The opening movement of the quartet is a theme and variations using the same theme used by Haydn in his Op. 9 No. 5 quartet.
